Zoe Saldana: American Pie

No words.

Reggie Bush: American Idol

Can't catch Reggie!

I love Kim Kardashian! There really isn’t a thing she can do wrong.  From her first reality show, the original For the Love of Ray-J to all the things she does on “E!”.  She must have told Reggie something real nice to get him going on Sunday.

I stated in my Tim Tebow post that Reggie was one of the best college players EVER!  This past Sunday he finally showed those glimpses in the pros.  I’ve never seen him run so swift and violent.  There were shades of AP the way he went out there and initiated contact.  I’m not sure if that’s what we really want to see from Reggie.  He has had something of an injury prone career.  But if he can keep this up for 2 more games I don’t see the Saints losing.

Run Reggie, run!

American Idiot: Gilbert Arenas suspended indefinitely

If you want to know why I’m calling Gilbert an idiot look no further than the picture above.  Here he’s pictured shooting imaginary pistols during pregame introductions a day after meeting with the US district attorney over a reported weapons violation.  Now although not a total result of the picture he finds himself suspended without pay.

Some people just don’t get it.  I’m kind of hoping the NBA voids the rest of his $111 million contract so the Wizards can use that money to go after a big name free agent this summer.  I mean why should us fans after suffer through more years of mediocrity over this fools actions.  I say that but I can’t say I’d care less what happens to Gilbert after that, because even after it’s all over I’ll probably still look to watch Gilbert where ever he plays.  He’s that talented an athlete and entertaining a personality but in this situation he’s continually showed bad judgement whether it be taking to brash rants on Twitter or during introductions in last night’s game and he deserves every bit of punishment that he gets.

Here goes a guy who came from nothing to be one of the best clutch players in the NBA.  Raised by a single dad, he wears the number zero because he says nobody ever thought he’d be “somebody”.  Well he came along way but now Gilbert is doing nothing but giving those people more ammunition(pardon the pun).  Maybe it is a good thing he sit down for a minute.  Maybe the flux of media criticism is coming too fast for him to control and make good decisions.  Or maybe he is just an idiot.  He probably needs to take sometime to come up with a calculated move to come back from this.  Will that comeback involve playing in the NBA? Who knows.  With Gilbert you never know.

Tim Tebow: American Hero

Over the course of my somewhat young lifetime very few legends have been made in college football.

Marshall Faulk was hands down the most unstoppable player I’ve ever seen. I remember staying up late nights waiting to catch his games on ESPN. He played for San Diego St so most of his games were played on the west coast and since I’m on the east coast they normally didn’t start till 10pm est. But after passively watching about 3 weeks of his games he quickly became must see TV. It seemed like every time I looked up from my X-Men comic book he was breaking off a 60 yard run. Swift. Graceful. Powerful. That was Marshall.

Then there was Reggie Bush.  Some of the moves he could do on the field just defied logic.  While Faulk could go north, south, east and west, Reggie was more like 360 degrees of speed.  A tornado in cleats. It’s like the difference between the Tazmanian Devil and the Road Runner when comparing the two, with Reggie being Taz.

Now to our boy Tebow.  My other choice of title for this blog was going to be “Tim Tebow is a Legend”.  Tim Tebow isn’t an athlete.  Tim Tebow is a tank.  He may not make it in the NFL but he might make it to be the President of the United States.  I don’t know if you’ve ever heard Ray Lewis talk but he preaches leadership and accountability.  Tebow is the embodiment of a leader.

He creates a fellowship amongst his teammates.  He doesn’t feel his responsibility ends with him leading the offense he must motivate the entire team.  He thirst for contact just like Mr. Lewis because he knows for him to run over an opposing line backer means more to his team than it does to him making a highlight. It may seem like I’m jocking the dude and maybe I am just a little.  But if you can’t respect what this man has done for college football and the University of Florida well than you’re probably not a leader.

Gilbert Arenas: Footsteps

Wanna here a funny story? Visit Gilbert Arenas’ twitter page.  Wanna hear a not so funny story?  America’s favorite Wizard (No Potter) is making the move from famous to notorious.  According to reports he had multiple handguns stored in his locker at Verizon Center.   It is in fact illegal to be in possession of a gun in the District.  Not only that but Gilbert used the weapons in an attempted joke on teammate Jarvis Crittendon.  A joke that if NBA commissioner David Stern deems it worthy could end with Gilbert being fined and possibly suspended but those are the least of his worries.  The DC Police and the US District Attorney’s office are also both involved in the investigation which could lead to jail time for the All Star.  The guns according to Gil were unloaded but he still has since issued an apology for his lack of judgement.    I wouldn’t expect this incident to go away anytime soon.

Good luck Gil.
